  • Diggarama just released a VA compilation to celebrate its first anniversary – congrats. Amongst those 31 tracks by artists like Vadz, Derek Scott, Izmar and many other members of the netaudio scene you’ll find a precious little piece of mine called ‘Swift’.

“We give you our first year anniversary present. Producers from all the corners of the globe joined in and made this beautiful sound journey that will take you to the heavenly realms.

Close your eyes… Music is relentless, body is restless. Energy pumping through your veins is just a foreplay for what’s about to happen. Worry not. World of wonders is ahead of you. Just reach out and embrace it. Never surrender, never dance alone. We shall share our wonders with you. Now… Open your eyes.

We’re dedicating this release to you because you have been a big support, loyal friends and audience. We have never been prouder with the release. So many people created so many beautiful sounds varying from ambient and stylish electronica to banging techno with some slight detours into drum’n'bass and breaks waters and into dark electro-experimental clouds, but yet suitable for every ear and taste. There’s a bit of everyone’s cup of tea in this release, we kid you not.

PS One important note: Izmar’s track is encoded in 128 kbps and we would also like to mention that Izmar created this track when he was 19 years old using an old 486DX4, Impulsetracker, 2xtb303, tr909 and a Juno106.”

You can grab ‘Swift’ here but i recommend you to download out the entire compilation instead (it’s free, damnit!)

  • rktic - Acid dubs“Acid dubs” was my attempt to join Rolands TB-303 and Dubtechno. It was the final techno release on switzerland based realaudio.ch netlabel (rest in peace).

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

rktic from Hamburg (.de) sharpened his knives and cut a bunch of very fine tunes for his comeback. Back in 2001 he released the legendary “Northern Lights” in the first days of the thinner.cc netlabel. It was brilliantly remixed and released on cd some months later.

Meanwhilst Ronny Pries’s activities focussed on his labels rohformat.de and .schleudertrauma. , releasing under various pseudonymes, and last but not least his brilliant demo-mixes which are officially delivered with Native Instruments DJ-software Traktor and Final Scratch.

His involvement in ‘Bass Line‘ by Audiorealism.se, the developer of the real TB-303 emulation, inspired him to create a journey through his acidic side. All aspects of the so called “silver-box” are enlightened: from the deep and rough side (space intro, exit) to more elektro oriented grooves (313cruiser) over to pushing and mellow basslines (negative matter, orbicle) – keeping it dubby troughout the whole release.

The free, CC-licensed tracks are still available from archive.org. Of course, you can add them to your last.fm collection as well.

  • Breitbannt - back from exile ep - thn035Can’t really say what made me come back to my “Breitbannt” alter ego from the early schleudertrauma days. Maybe it was the overall feel of those tracks or eventually the fact that i made them in a rush in one evening. Released in 2003 and still kicking. » read on!

  • The debut release of my project “rktic” for the Thinner netlabel and furthermore my first excursion into dubtechno released back in 2001. The album was lateron remixed by Marko Fürstenberg, Blamstrain, Digitalverein… and released as limited CDR.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The 70 minute journey begins with the short intro “Geiger Radio“. There isn’t much to say about it so we begin with the track “Spaces In Spaces“. Chilly pads, weird sounds makes this a lovely soundscape, drums are added gradually and makes this 15 minute long track a nice and soft journey. Very impressing!

Next track is “Riding The Pipeline” that begins with reverbed industry noises, bassdrum and some bass. More drums are added gradually and the delayed “stabs” is excellent. It feels like you are standing at the tundra near a factory and listening to the track.

The fourth track, “the Opposite of” begins with a sneaking bassline that becomes stronger and stronger, fx builds upp the feeling of the track and after some time the bassdrum and other drums arrives. The bassline continues to filters up and down. Another great track!

The next track, all 14 minutes of it, “A walk on deep snow“, is a journey with beautiful pad, lovely bassounds and lovely delayed fx. Its definatly one of the best tracks i’ve heard in a long time! It’s hard to describe how it sounds but its overwhelming good.

The sixth and the last track is also the longest. 20 minutes and 42 seconds long! The track is called “Evolving North” and its recorded live! It contains clicks, pads, drums, fx. Pretty hard to describe the track but its fits very good into this album!

The whole album has everything you want… clicky stuff, spacy stuff, cold stuff, chilly stuff… The title of the album really fits, this is really the “Northern Lights“.

Released under a CC-license and still available as free download from Thinner.cc
