After lots of work on the soundtrack for “RTL Winter Sports 2010″ during the summer the game is now in stores for X360, PS3 & Wii. Additionally, our official iPhone game for Quentin Tarrantino’s masterpiece “Inglorious Basterds” made it to the appstore. Good times.
The work on the music for “The great tournament” was a quite interesting task in different ways. First off, i decided to switch Buzztracker for Ableton Live on this project. Simply because i needed something more reliable than my good but crashy fellow tracker. The second interesting aspect: apart from writing own tracks for the game i was asked to mix and produce tracks layouted by Vienna based Audiovibes-Studios and give them a more electronic twist. The result is a quite unique potpourri of music from different styles from breaks, electro, disco, house, techno to trance with lots of funky and rocky elements. Last not least i finally managed to get around in Live. Here’s the trailer for the game:
Gotta admit, it was a very cool and rare opportunity to develop something like this. Obviously, you have to smack Nazis in order to climb the highscore ladder – “whack a mole” style. The game features 3 different modes and lots of silly sounds. I had quite much fun when recording those “hurt me plenty” gargles etc. It’s quite funny. Again and again.
It’s now available at the appstore. So go and get Brad his skulls!
