Jeroen Breebart Barricade Pro Limiter VSTJB’s Barricade brickwall limiter initially made it amongst the top scoring freeware limiters back then. The pro version takes controls and sound even further. For only 10 EUR we’re talking about the ultimate bargain for those looking after a topnotch limiting plugin. Furthermore it’s introducing a very interesting aspect towards limiting: you can take control waveform, envelope, loudness and correlation individually.

A demo version with slightly limited functionality is available as Windows VST plugin.

  1. ooops… That’s right. I only had “mastering” in mind

  2. Limiters are also very often used for sound design, especially within electronic dance music. And this one with its arsenal of options is quite much fun on grouped drumtracks etc. Especially due to its lots of controls.

  3. I like JB plugins, especially “Omnisone” but this time I have to say : “it’s too much” . To many controls : IMO a limiter should be used to give a 1 or 2dB boost in a mastering chain, and the sound has to be designed before the limiter.
Hope to see an easier version….

It's your turn!
