Paul Snowden’s movement and sticker imperium “WASTED GERMAN YOUTH” is now going to take over the internet with GET-WASTED.com. The deal: you upload an image, add some ‘WASTED’ or ‘LOVE’ flava and share it with the world.
Stupid – i’m loving it! GET WASTED!
PS: there’s also a gallery of digitally wasted images.

For those of you who always wonder what this demoscene fuzz is all about i’m starting the series “demos for technoheads”. If you’re into techno and/or electronic music in general and appealed by visual artsy things, you most probably don’t have to have any kind of demoscene background to enjoy these videos.
Technically, they’re all computer-generated in realtime and available as executable files (mostly for PCs). And usually the music would be tailormade for the production. In this case, there’s a VJ team behind the show so they also went for a short DJ mix to accompany the visuals.
You can grab this demo titled “Medium” by Einklang.net from Pouet.net

Onmutu Mechanicks is a project of Arne Weinberg, moving on the (dare saying ‘even’) deeper side of things. The album titled “Nocturne” is released on danish dubtechno institution Echocord. 9 tracks between ambient and techno – good stuff.
Bwahahahaha, no comment
EDIT: Sorry folks, shortly after posted the video was removed from Vimeo. Embedding of this one is disabled, but you can follow the link and check it out at youtube.

That’s one for the lovers of cars, motorsports, screeching tyres. Ken Block (no, not Ben Klock) is giving this monstrous Ford Fiesta (not to 60 in 1.9 seconds) his special treatment at the Autodrome de Linas in France. I’d love to take a ride in that Ford but not sure if i had the guts for a ride with Mr. Block. Awesome “soundtrack” btw…

After noticing that the archives are now heavily frequented i thought it might be a good idea to get rid of Cufon rendering the headlines in order to make it more STRG-F search friendly. Since i hate Arial i thought i’d give Typekit a try and check out some of those lovely fonts on the web (if you’re reading around here at the moment and wonder what’s happening to the typography, there’s your answer).
While Typekit itself is so easy to implement (just copy two lines of script to your header) and styling via CSS is a dream (having access to a font family of 7 weights rules) it’s not so easy to maintain a good quality in terms of font rendering. Rule of thumb: the bigger the type, the uglier it gets.
And i just measured that loading the script and fonts via Typekits API significantly slowed down the entire site. Such a pity. I really hope that they get rid of those rendering and performance problems asap. PLEASE!!!!
PS: The font used on the screenshot was lovely Museo Sans by Jos Buivenga/Exlibris

And the first of the “Setup” series by Delta Funktionen reminds a bit of those earlier Ben Klock tunes.

The guys from “Quite” are known for their very moody and ambient-ish productions. This time they managed to get Brothomstates/Orange to make a soundtrack. The result just blew me away. Mind you, this thing comes from a 3.9kb Windows .executable file.
It clearly deserved the first place at this years Chaos Construction demoparty. You can get a higher quality video from capped.tv and download the beta version of cdak from Pouet.net

…that took way too long to get this on the road again. But for good, i hope. Of course i’m not done (again) but the major improvement in terms of navigating around this site are worth going online enough.
What changed?
Let me hear what you think, if you’re missing something, find some ugly bugs or whatever!
PS: I just noticed that something is borked in my custom fields which manages the audio player. So you actually don’t have too much to listen to as promised in the category overview. But i’ll fix that shortly!
