I love Gran Turismo 5. It’s awesome. But then again it also heavily trips on my nerves sometimes. Especially during the license tests.
So, you take a test for the first time, you end up with bronze and get to see the result screen. Alright, fine. Let’s try again. Bloody hell, you missed the target time for silver just by a few hundrets. Gneh. Loading. Result screen. But hey, i just wanna try again!
That isn’t yet the biggest deal if you’re an absolutely awesome driver but for people like me who need a while to get to gold that stupid result screen in between the attempts really sucks major dick. It’s a number of clicks and waiting and loading that’s just not necessary.
So why-o-why didn’t you, dear Sony/Polyphony guys make it a bit more intelligent and dismiss the result screen IF the player wins the bronze award the second time? A direct next attempt? Or a “try again?” button BEFORE loading the result screen?
AND FOR FUCKS SAKE: if i choose to not login to the Playstation Network, stop asking me a billion of times!
UPDATE (BUG ALERT)
While writing this, GT5 is stuck at the “post-test” drivethrough video without taking any more controller input. And this happens quite frequently during the IA tests. This now happened during all IA tests from 5-7 and always caused the PS3 to crash really hard.

I need a fresh desktop wallpaper at work. And something pink. And about love and techno. So, if you’re an ‘Untz-Untz’ lover as well, here you are.
Download the .jpg (Full HD 1920×1080)
And if you’re in need for some Untz-Untz mixes, i happen to have a few online here,at Mixcloud and Soundcloud.
Delsin’s talented Kaaskopp Delta Funktionen recently played the warm-up for Jeff Mills at Doornroosje in Nijmegen and boy, that’s a trip. Deep, dark, minimal, dubby, dusty – i can just strongly recommend this 3 hours set that is now being published by the guys from mnml ssgs.

Next in the ‘demos for technoheads‘ series is this reminiscence to the good old X-Mix videos. ‘Ion Traxx 2004′ comes as 5 tracks mix with corresponding visuals and captures the spirit of i.e. ‘Destination Planet Dream’. If you’re interested in watching the realtime version, grab it here (Mac and Linux versions are also available)

On a sidenote, i was recently interviewed by Moritz Sauer about my netlabel “_rohformat” for his project netlabels.de. I’m afraid it’s only of interest for the german readers of you unless you don’t bother using one of those translation tools.
You can read the interview here and the google translated version here.
It’s autumn and the migratory birds are going to the beach. Full size at flickr as usual.

Slowly recovering from that oral surgery (hence the lack of activity) i really enjoyed yesterdays view on the sky from my bed. Awesome how the colors faded over time. Bigger size can be found at flickr.

The Burden brothers aka Octave One start their ‘revisited series‘ with remixes of their classics ‘Dema’ and ‘Meridian’. The remixes so far are yet only available as vinyl 12″. I’ll update this entry with a digital release as soon as available.
You can grab your copy from Hardwax, Clone, Wordandsound and many more…
Sorry – can’t offer previews of the remixes yet without ugly deeplinks. In case you haven’t heard the originals, here we go.

Lovely morning here in Hamburg around the Alster. A bit fresh but sunny without wind. Another Vignette shot. For bigger size, check flickr.

I wrote about the party version of this 4k intro earlier already. The final version is now finished and quite different in direction and music. Once more for the non-techies: the video below (including sound, textures and everything) is generated from a 4096 bytes PC executable. The music was made by Brothomstates. Even disregarding its very tiny filesize it’s still an incredible piece of art.
Download the pc .executable (you need a decent graphics adapter to watch it)
Some may wonder what a “party version” is. In the demoscene there are those events called “demoparty” where artists gather to drink, party, showcase their newest creations. Sometimes a production might not be finished but it creators want to participate in the competition anyway. So they enter the competition with the version they’ve got so far and offer a final version later.
