That’s a pretty interesting/impressive tech demo of a modular realtime audio studio titled ‘AudioGL‘. Above track and visuals were generated in realtime using their homegrown engine. No samples or further processing was applied. Techwise it’s an environment somewhere between Buzztracker and Reaktor, you stack modules to create signal paths. Not sure wether the eye-candy 3d way of modulating sounds is really applicable but it looks fancy – doesn’t it?
To be honest, aside from all the coolness and technical achievement – what shall one do with it? Is there a demand for realtime generated audio on the web? It pretty much reminds me of the first whooo-effect when using our Farbrausch V2 synth for the first time. Now, over 10 years after that it still being used a lot in the demoscene. But that’s about it already.
Anyway, it’s a cool project to follow and maybe they’ve got a sophisticated masterplan on their minds to pave the way for the technology.
If you want to learn more about it, there’s a second video with more detailed information
